Bill Evans Golf Tournament Raises $63,000 for Breast Cancer Help

October 2, 2009

On October 2, Lorraine Pace and Alex Fezza of Breast Cancer Help met with "Eyewitness News" weather anchor Bill Evans to accept a check for the money raised for Breast Cancer Help, Inc. from the Bill Evans Celebrity Golf Outing over a two-year period.

Since its inception last year, the Bill Evans Golf Tournament has raised $63,000 for Breast Cancer Help, Inc, the Long Island Cancer Help and Wellness Health Center and the continuance of their programs.

Of this amount, $20,000 came from The Lee Family Foundation. The money had come from Mr. Evans and his family.

Breast Cancer Help's approach to advocacy includes promoting education and awareness of the disease, working to bring about positive changes in the environment, raising funds to help ensure that Long Islanders have access to the best possible medical care, and providing psychosocial support services and programs for breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as the research into the causes and cure of breast cancer.
