Sunday, October 4, 2009
Doors open at 2 p.m.
October marks the 15th consecutive year of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All ticket sales from the show will go to benefit Breast Cancer Help, its Long Island Cancer Help and Wellness Center and the continuance of the programs that they operate. Breast Cancer Help’s approach to advocacy includes promoting education and awareness of the disease, working to bring about positive changes in the environment, raising funds to help ensure that Long Islanders have access to the best possible medical care, and providing psychosocial support services and programs for breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as the research into the causes and cure of breast cancer.
Scheduled to perform at the event will be The Fugitives, Saul Goode, members of the Stanton Anderson Band, Howie Seal of The Neighborhood Band, Dan Donnelley and “Acoustic Steve.” Throughout the day, Oystermen’s will serve a complimentary gourmet buffet with a Viennese table for dessert. In addition, there will also be raffles, psychic readings and a dunk tank – try to dunk a bartender! Ladies will bid on some of Long Island’s most handsome, eligible men during the silent bachelor auction.
Representatives from the New York Islanders will be on hand to raffle off either four tickets to an upcoming Islanders game, or an autographed picture. Those who sign up for season tickets will receive an autographed jersey by the player of their choice. There will be giveaways as well.
Advance tickets are $40 for adults, $15 for children. Tickets can also be purchased on the door the day of the event for $50 (for adults) and $20 (for children).
